76 300d to 70 280sel tire swap
greetings.
i'm headed to kansas monday to pick up a 1970 280sel. i intend to pull my two good front tires on the 1976 300d so i can put the rear of the 70 sel on a two wheel tow dolly and have good tires on the front of the 70sel to bring it home. so what i need to know is if the 76 300d 115/114 rims fit a 70 280sel 108 bolt pattern. (stock rims) thank, jlwggns |

Yes...
Be sure to disconnect the driveshaft at the diff. before you tow it... A few hours (if that long) down the road and you'll toasts the tranny if you don't.... Unbolt the shaft at the flex disc and tie the drivshaft out of the way with a coat hanger...
