voltage regulator 67 250sec
need help on my 67 250sec. the CL light came on in the car. thought it was the alternator. tested voltage across battery and read 12.20v. removed positive terminal and engine died. thought for sure the alternator and brought to shop for rebuild. they tested and said alternator is good and pumping volts at 14v. they mentioned i have a external voltage regulator.
ummmm.......wheres the voltage regulator in my car? thanks grez |

If you have a W108 chassis...
the voltage regulator is located on the passenger fender, towards the firewall.
They usally are a silver colored metal box (approx. 2" x 3") with a wire plug connector underneath. 2 sheet metal screws fasten the bracket to the pass. fender. I'd advise to remove the bracket, then unplug the connector at the base.
