Harry's U-Pull-It: Not for the MB crowd!

Unfortunatley, today's trip there turned up a mere 15 Benzes, with none being what I was looking for - a 420. Most were diesels, though I did spot a few rare ones in there (their rust, however, made mine look like a rust-free Cali car!)

Here're some pics of some finds in there, if anyone is curious. The first one: A 200?. The engine looked to be 4-cyl and probably gas, since it had "Zundfolge" (firing order) on it, but I couldn't tell for sure as it had neither carbs, FI, nor glow plugs left on it.

The only 108 I found in the yard, a 280S with a hole so large in the front passenger's floor, and rust so bad, it probably weighed 500lbs less than when it left the factory.

A 116-chassis 280SE. The hood was wrecked shut and I didnt have anything nearby to pry it open with. The engine looks like it's all still inside and complete, though

2 pics of a red 240D - the best shape of any of the 240 diesels in the lot. Unfortunaley, that means the others had even rustier cams, if the head was still on them! See the 3rd pic to see what I'm talking about. That's another 240, I believe.

The 4th one was a 300, but judging by what was the oil cap, I wouldn't really want that engine either.

The 5th one was a 300 turbo that looks pretty complete under the hood!

Sorry fellow gasser fans, there was nothing really worthwhile in there save that 280SE that looked pretty intact.

I hope you're joking there We had a pretty big surprise snowstorm on Wednesday. Surprise as in "Hey, it's almost spring. We might have some flurries toda.... OOOOPS, where did this come from?" from the weathermen. We had about 6-8" at my house, but half of it was already either melted or packed down by the next morning.
