smoke after idle?

My M130 powered Cabriolet runs great throughout the rev range except for an occasional puff of smoke. If I'm stopped at an intersection at a red light, when I accelerate to leave, I leave a puff of smoke. Not blue color like oil, but not black either. No smoke when leaving after a short stop like a 4 way stop. There is no oily residue on the back of the car.

Not sure if its related, but if in gear, the idle is really lumpy, never stalls, just sounds rough at 700rpm. If I'm in neutral its smooth at idle, at around 1000rpm. There is no visible smoke at idle, but in both cases, there is a puff of smoke when leaving from a red light.

Any suggestions on what to look for? Compression test was around 165 for all cylinders. One of the plugs gets fouled a lot (it looks wet). Could it be a fuel injector thats worn and dumping fuel or something more serious?

Might be a weak valve seal on that one cylinder, which one was it? Have you checked your brake fluid? Maybe a small leak in the master cylinder pushing fluid into the booster and carrying over to the vacuum line and into the manifold? Lots of possibilities...lumpy idle could just be a fouled plug from a bad injector which could be the cause of the smoke.

Wild guessing...need more data...and maybe a cold beer.
