destroyer, your fan switch is a 3-way integral with the blue slider control. top left. all the way left should be high, slight click right is medium, another right click, low, next slot right just keeps vents open without fan engagement. i had to replace my heater blower (outside, under the hood and cowl) and put in new interior controls so I recall this well

A lot of info has been posted on replacing heater levers over the years. Try doing a search for "108 heater levers", without the quotation marks of course. You'll have plenty of reading.

Upper right lever controls the heat/defrost flap. Should have made sure the cable was moving freely before reinstalling the controls. Would have been the perfect time to lube all cables and moving parts. Corroded cables and valves are as likely to cause failure of the levers as is age.
If the cables were in fact moving freely before reassembly, then you will have to go in there again. I had a little problem when I put it all back together, I thought I would run the cables in a slightly different location (made sense to me). I ended up pulling the assembly and repositioning the cables to where they were originally run, everything worked perfect after that.
