Unhappy mercedes 1979 450 sel 6.9

This 450 sel 6.9 sat around for 5 years not being driven and has a issue with the brakes not working properly. I actually bled all four using new brake fluid but the brakes pedal still goes down to the the floor quite often. Could it be the brake master cylinder is cactus or could there be some other problem. The level of fluid in the .brake master cylinder does not go down but remains in the max level.

Seals probably out on the master or the master itself needs bleeding.

Cactus?

If the system got very low on fluid you might be lucky and it might just be that the master cylinder needs bleeding. Otherwise it's time to rebuild or replace your master cylinder.

Had the same issue with my car.( it sat for 2 years) Calipers in front wouldn't release. Replaced them and hoses, bled system but lost leverage at the pedal. I disassembled the master and found a rusty bore. Replaced master and all was well.

On something so old capable of going so fast it makes sense to just replace everything while you're in there.
