curious about some numbers on a tag

Finally get to start on my 1972 250C; I find it was manufactured 7/71; on the radiator support I unscrewed a tag that has the following numbers (I did send off to CA for interpretation):

the first sets are option codes; the next is paint code then chassis 114023 12 7 anyone know what the 12 and 7 are for? next line is 0 21534 72043 anyone know what these are? a little brake work and transmission adjustment and I should be able to get it on the road for non-snow days. |

The "1" in the 12 indicates left hand drive. A "2" would be RHD.

The "2" in the 12 indicates an auto transmission. A "0" would be a standard transmission. The 7 indicates the car was built for the US. Last edited by socalbenz; 12-19-2011 at 08:01 PM. |

The bottom numbers are the cars order numbers for production identification. . They will also be in the cars data card. |
