76 mb110. 924 eng egr valve and mintake manifold

trying to remove a egr valve in mb 110 eng cant get a flare wrench in there do I need to unbolt the intake manifold ? or will just removing the solex 4a1 carb be enough to remove egr valve nothing in several manuals I have fr mercedes on egr valve removal

You just gotta go with the flow sometimes. If you can't get a tool in there and it looks like pulling the carb off will make room I'd do it and keep going from there.
