Hello all, long time lurker first time poster. I can't seem to find any mention of this on the forum but I am having trouble putting the sunroof transmission drive back together. This is the early style from a 1978 300CD. I thought my problem was a stripped fiber gear but it looked perfectly fine when I opened it up. My problem area is the pieces on the shaft that sticks out the front that you use to manually operate the electric sunroof. There is a spacer piece between the small bottom gear that drives the sunroof cable and the bigger top gear that holds top gear flat. There is a key in the shaft but it is too big for the spacer to sit flush with the big gear. Am i missing something? I'm trying to attach pictures but can't seem to get it to work with jpegs or pdf's. Any pointers?
