W123 EGR System Question

Hi,
I'm working around my sons 1977 280E and I've noticed a few things, but not sure if they are problems.
I've posted the pics, to make it easier.

In pic1 - There is an open hose (circled in yellow) which is ultimately connected to the EGR by way of metal pipe (circled in black). Should this be connected to something?

In pic2 - There is a sensor of sorts (circled in yellow), should this be piped to something, as there are two connections on it?

Many thanks

The sensor you see should be the temperature sensor that tells the EGR valve via vacuum when to open. The fact that it's not connected to either vacuum hose indicates that the EGR valve is disabled. The orange vacuum line in the other photo appears to go to the EGR, but it's not doing anything. If I remember correctly, all the orange lines - rubber or plastic - are for emmissions.

Thanks fella, much appreciated.
You wouldn't happen to have a drawing for this?
I couldn't actually see and other ports anywhere missing a hose connected to it.
Cheers
