Got a 38 170V -any other pre-war owners? Need help!
Hi all,
Relocated my shop and busy with my 123s so I haven’t posted in awhile. I have a 1938 170 V Type A Cabrio I’m restoring for a client. The car is 95% complete. Currently inop, but getting there… I’m a w123 gal through and through- so I have questions. On the flip side- my client may want to sell it as a running restoration project after I do the electrical and mechanical repairs. I’d love to get an idea if anyone’s looking for one. So any pre-war folks- I would love to chat. I’ll upload photos from my computer later tonight. |

there's always somebody looking for a prewar car. Where is this one? There was one for sale between DC & NYC a few years back. It sat a while before being snatched up. I don't know what it sold for.
Where is this car located? -CTH |

This might be impossible to answer, but....
Was this at one time a police car? This model was popular with them and why they survived the war. The German cops were not going to let any civilian or military use take their cars away and they had access to spare parts civilians didn't have. This is not a negative thing. The police cars then got better care than either civilian or military cars since military cars were disposable and civilian cars could not get parts for repairs. |
