set float level solex type 32paita carb

Benzers;

I am about to rebuild the carb on my 1957 219 ponton. How do I set the float level??

Most of those old Solex carbs use different thickness washers placed between the float valve and carb top to achieve proper float level. The Glenn's book from the '60s says that using a 1.0mm thick washer should be right. If you need to adjust you can shave the washer down (float level needs to be higher) or use a thicker washer or stack of washers (float level needs to be lower).

Thanks for the how-to. Also, I did find the correct fuel level measurement from an old manual. I'm on to it next week.

Carb rebuild kits usually come with a couple of those washers, giving you a few options for setting the float level.

I'm sure you've already done this job by now, but I found that with the reproduction needle and seats, I needed to install them with no washers at all in order to reach the correct float level.
