As I inderstand it the basic idea behind the strut bar is to deal with the results of modern, wide, sticky tires. Think of it this way ..... these sticky gumballs are now stressing the upper/top of the contact point - the top of your shock/strut tower. With all of that force down (where the rubber meets the road) low there is now a tendency for flexing at the top. The strut brace is intended to reduce that flexing. Clear as mud?
