Hey gang,
So I've put maybe two hundred miles on my new toy and I'm ready for some wrench action.

Of course I'll do the obvious:

- Fuel and oil filters
- Coolant
- Oil change (there's a small oil leak - not a good idea to put synthetic in?)

From what I've read here, diesel-specific stuff is
- Valve adjustment
- Clean banjo bolt

What else?


The car starts right up every time, but there's a bit of hesitation and misfires in the first minute. A friend driving behind me on the highway at night in traffic said he could definitely see my gear changes from first to second and second to third in his headlights.

What tools are needed to do a compression/leakdown test? Something that can be rented/easily obtained? I'm starting from scratch, so I don't have anything at all except some basic rachets and sockets.
