Can I clean the fuel injectors?

I've got the fuel injectors out of the 72 280SEL, and BOY are they dirty! I had originally planned on just replacing them, but a friend of mine told me that it's possible to clean them. Is this so? And if yes, how does one go about it? Or am I better off just blowing the dough on a set of new ones. Of course, the day wouldn't be complete without one being broken, as seen in the pics. (The trashed one will obviously have to be replaced). By the way, all the corrosion is thanks to the MULTIPLE generations of mice and rats who made the top of the engine their home.
