Diesel car prices

My guess is that car prices will adjust with fuel prices, but only after an extended period of time. Diesel selling over gas will require several months before you see an easing of tdi pricing. I suspect there's more demand than supply for this vehicle resulting in a sustained high price for an extended period.

For mercedes with lower mpg results, a lower price, I would expect, would occur more rapidly with diesel price changes.

I have a 2001 jetta tdi and am still happy to fill up even at 40-50 cents more per gallon than RUG knowing I'm going to produce 45-50 mpg on the tank. There simply aren't that many used gas powered vehicles that can return similar mileage results.
