If you don't drive much it isn't that bad. I'm sure an S430 would get almost 20mpg around town, high teens. So what if one gives up a few mpg's? 5mpg either way doesn't make much of a difference.

Well unless you drive a lot, at 10k a year such a difference is going to be hardly noticable.
