Oh crap, just remembered it's a 4Matic. The differential is part of the oil pan, I've never done a pan gasket on a 4Matic. No idea how much extra work it would be, probably enough to make me buy stock in "Oil Dri". On a regular 300E, yes you would need to raise the engine a bit to get clearance to get the pan out from between the block and crossmember. Just a few inches, would need to watch the fan blades, exhaust I think can stay on even, mainly just watch the fan and disconnect the motor mounts, just need 2-4 inches or so. Need to have the car on stands high enough that the pan can come down enough to be removed, the pan has to kind of swing over the crossmember.
