On the electric roof you just have to pop out 5 or 6 clips in the front using a table knife and slide the cover out the front (sunroof should be mostly open for this procedure). I think the manual roof is similar but you have to remove the handle first. I'm not positive though, I have not taken apart my manual roof yet.
