A pipe and a breaker bar.

When replacing the harmonic balancer, PROCEED WITH CAUTION. Many a 616/617 crankshaft has been destroyed by following the procedure that would be used on a keyed shaft. This one has no key, it has two steel dowels. You will have to put the balancer on with the dowel holes aligned perfectly and then tap the dowels in place. If they will not go in place with light tapping, pull the balancer and put it on again. It might take fifty times to get it aligned properly. If it takes fifty times so be it. This is a job for lots of patience.
