Or, if you have a neckbrace on and you can't feel the turbo, you could put a pressure gauge (mityvac should work) on a t after the alda (between where the vacuum hose comes out the intake and to the alda - at least it does on the 92 300D) and then see what pressure is going to the intake. Should be around 10psi at around 4000rpm I believe (on a 92 300D).

Don't take my word for it though, I'm not an expert (yet)
