One last question, it was suggested to me that running down the tank, then loading in a few gals of vegetable oil sometimes can be a quick fix for smoking. Any reason this might be a bad idea?

The oil separator is located in the air cleaner. I've never pulled mine apart because it seems to work, but I've heard where removing, cleaning and putting back together can get things in order. A little search on the subject should turn some stuff up.

Ain't no way you should load in a few gallons of veggie without a separate tank to heat it in. Now some bio will flush things out like metamucil. Caution, though, to take care of fuel filters. Bio clogs things for a while.
