The newer cars equipped with the navigation systems are already "plugged in" as far as receiving satellite transmissions.
The technology is already there, so it's a matter of wrapping up contractual negotiations before you start seeing them on the next lineup.
It will probably be a (expensive) option at first, and then a mainstream offering, as satellite radio is embraced by the majority of car manufacturers...
