Been there, done that -- but not on this IP.
I would never suggest taking anything but the pressure valve holders and seals/seats out -- too much chance of getting something out that cannot be put back together without a bench, expertise, and special tools.
Sounds like you don't have the sleeve attached to the rack anymore -- should be easy to fix if you didn't break anything.
