Greetings Allan,

Your 300E Gasoline MB takes approx. 6.3 quarts of oil with a filter change and also a 74 MM filter wrench to get it off without removing the air filter housing. If you are using a strap wrench, go to Wal-mart and buy the end of filter wrench. Makes changing this hard to get to inverted oil filter easier. Hope you are replacing the filter with a known brand German or wix filter.
