Actually the s class is longer but sleeker and does not weigh much more than a 300dt. It is geared higher so will probably return a bit better economy on the highway.

The s class if the earlier from 81 to 85 is somewhat more electrically equipped so there is a bit more to maintain.

Both are nice high quality vehicles.
