I bought a '72 220D about 1-1/2 years ago, with 5 new tires, new cooling system (radiator, water pump, hoses), new belts, in very good condition, for $1000. I bought it from the original owner. The odometer was about "32,000 miles." However, those older odometers only go to 99,999, so that I assumed from the records the PO had, that it actually had 132,000 miles.

Mine is a 4-speed, light yellow, with palomino MB-Tex upholstry. These cars were very commonly used as taxis in Europe. Mine gets about 25 mpg. They have only 65 hp, so acceleration is not very great. However, they can drive all day long at 65-70 mph. Since they are noisy, you'll need to turn the radio up.
