Sell it and let someone else enjoy it. It was made to be driven hard and enjoyed. Today they are the best buy re fun for the dollar of any MB. Nice low mileage 2.3-16 are available for under 10K. I don't ever see it becoming a true "classic". like you said, it rides too hard.

My daily driver is an '85 Euro 2.3-16. My wife drives the 300 D. I do have adjustable Konis and the springs are adjustable also. I can adjust the harshness of the ride, but I'll never be able to drive and drink a steady cup of coffee like in our larger sedans.
