Seems silly to me.

A perfect fit is the 143 amp Bosch alternator. You can buy them used for $75, throw a new brush/regulator pack on it, use your old pulley. Wire lead connections are different. You'll need to upgrade the harness to get the power up to the battery (ie bigger wires).
