I'm sorry, I forgot all about the pump. Yes the pump is right of the glovebox on my 88 as well. But I understand that on some models it is somewhere around the base of the console on the passenger side, good luck. You can hold a piece of tissue paper near the intake and it will wave in the wind if it is working.
