Running hot is not usually a symptom of a t-stat on the 123's. Usually a bad t-stat is stuck open and causes the engine to run cool. Thought I guess they could get stuck mostly closed and cause hot issues. Are you sure your auxillary water pump is working, or you don't have build up in the system somewhere?
