then after lifting out the vent, look for the 4 little black plastic pins. one will likely drop into the drain where the large rubber hose is attached on either side of the firewall. the pin could/maybe drop through the hose. might want to put a piece ot tape to keep the end together first. I have lost a few of them at PNP removing chrome vents.

Indeed Charlie that's how mine were / are...
Funny isn't it? You can really tell on this car that the designer loved the idea of a bayonet with a central fixing pin - they are on the cowl covers and on the front of the metal plate that covers the wiper motor.
