Yes, a W124 exterior temp gauge will fit into the W123 cluster. Deliveryvalve did an excellent write up. beginning of this thread he used a W126 gauge and later stumbled onto the w124 unit which fits better and is smaller.

there were three HP ratings on the OM616...

1) Not much power
2) Even less power
