Where I grew up in west Toronto. There was the largest tree I ever remember seeing in eastern Canada a few yards over from ours. The owner an older lady could not afford to have it removed from her back yard. Eventually it came down with the city doing it. Took several large cranes to separate higher branches themselves the size of good sized trees and lower them down.

An average branch of that tree would have demolished that mercedes if it fell as well. In fact just as well as that whole tree did. Memory is hard to remember the width of the trunk at the base after all these years. Ten feet or more seems about right.

Strange it was never hit by lightning as well as severe thunderstorms were not uncommon in our area. Our own house was hit several times with limited damage. Or perhaps a tree of that size can take a hit and survive it.
