I found that a swivel extension worked a little easier than anything else I tried. Also, I used locktite on the threads. Don't forget the o-rings on the bottom of the housing, for the cyclonic oil separator. They help to "anchor" the other side of the housing to keep it from flopping around.
The most important thing that helped my air cleaner housing bracket was a valve adjustment. In fact, I followed up the initial valve adjustment with another one 200 miles later and it really smoothed things out.
