He never bought it. It was/is unclear who has legal title to the car anyway. The guy that did buy it, and the guy that sold it may be found to have participating in theft, forgery, etc. Especially if the guy that sold it claims/ed he owned it, accepted money (consideration) and issued a bogus Bill Of Sale.

OTOH, if the seller was smart, NO paperwork was exchanged. However, if the guy took money for it, he may get a knock at the door from the Sheriff's Department for some charge(es) at some future point. I don't care if the guy owns severaL AIRPORTS..... You can't just sell someone else's property when you don't have legal title stating you own it.

I think the OP dodged a bullet or two OR THREE. Just buy stuff that's titled, legal, and from the person that ACTUALLY legally owns it.
