Mercedes 1984 500SEL Euro 69,000 Miles
Well, the text says:

Fair Price For such A Rare Car. $17,000.
This Car is Now For Sale And I will Consider A Reasonable Offer!!

The pictures depict a very original euro Gen I (1981-85) probably rare euro sedan, that got a conversion to Fed. specs WITHOUT losing its euro headlights, headlight wipers and motors and bumpers.

Not even the euro books and records. If the dash cluster was not changed, likely the mileage is in kms, not miles. But if it is a dash, with US markings, then maybe the car got clocked at the time of conversion to depict lower miles. I can't read the dials, so who knows.

It seems to have survived the federalization process virtually untouched, which is pretty rare, in this country. It is practically a German spec car, so it'd look and perform lots better than a 1985 US spec 500SEL. Probably has no metal door beams, or bumper reinforcements like the US DOT demanded along with the ugly park bench bumpers and awful US headlights they asked.

I rather like it, though, and remember also, that even though it is the last year before the major upgrade the next year to the 560, a 500 euro engine is just about equal to the US spec 560 engine that had 238 hp.

If you are looking for a good gen I euro survivor, and the color does not make you vomit, I'd make a reasonable offer, the guy seems to want "all the money" and knows it, by showing some willingness to take a lower offer.

Just my thoughts.
