I have used the Topsider in the past but use one of the 'manual' plastic tower ones (where you pump yourself).

If in your area you have a place with a pour-in recycling receptacle, the Topsider is handy because you can just remove the pump, replace it with a cap and go recycle your oil.

However -- and maybe it was just me -- I managed to twice lose the seal for the tank opening when I did that, and the pump won't do anything without it. The seal kits are pretty readily available now I think. The second time, I tried making one from generic plumbing rubber and it didn't work well.
