A friend of mine hired an advocate lawyer to help guild him through the process. This was in addition to his divorce lawyer. The advocate second guessed his wife's lawyer and told him what to expect and also worked with his divorce lawyer to move things along.

Why the divorce lawyer did not do all of this is unknown to me, but my friend was very happy he hired the advocate. It saved him a few million bucks during his divorce due to the advocate thinking up all the ways he could be screwed over by his wife and helping his divorce lawyer to head them off.
