Hey fellow benz owners i need some opinions here!
I have a silver 83 300D. The paint is faded and oxidized on the hood. It had been repainted long ago the previous owner told me, but poorly. The rest of the cars' paint is good. I saw a 79 300 (same color) with a very rough body and interior but a VGL hood and grill being sold. The seller is willing to let me switch the hoods between mine and the 79. The 79 lacks that insulation on the underside, and looks as if it never had any.
My question is,
would it be easy for two people to replace the two hoods, im starting to have doubts, and can i put insulation on the underside of the 79 hood later on?
Im thinking of this angle because i feel just repainting my hood would be costly and or look different from the paint on the rest of the vehicle. Please respond with comments and opinions!!!
