I nearly had an accident with a non-Mercedes Car because I did not know it but I had engaged the cruise control.

It was in city traffic. I let off on the accelerator pedal expecting the Car to slow down normally as I was approaching a Red Light with a Car in front of me. Because of the Cruise Control the Car stayed at the same speed instead of slowing. By the time I stopped I must have been like 2 inches from the Car in front of me.

On My Mercedes I removed it as I have never felt the need for cruise control. If you foot gets tired or pressing on the accelerator pedal it is time to pull over and take a break.

I also removed the cruise control from my US made Car and Van.
