Hey. I did the exact same thing to my 1984 500SEL. Got white paint on the side molding. I am curious whether you had luck getting it off. I am going to try a little rubbing compound in an inconspicuous area but I'm a little leary of that. I'm not sure what the goof off stuff is, but it sounds similar to "goo gone". I have some of that which I will try also.
