The new order of MB SUVs:
GLA = subminiature vehicle based on the A class sedans. This is also being brand labeled as an Infiniti, gotten these for rental cars before. Wants to be a real MB when it grows up. I’m 6’3 and wife is 5’3 and she complained about the lack of head room.
GLC = tolerable mini SUV. These based on C class sedans. Think Honda CR-V with leather seats. Has most of the luxury features of the big boys in a small package. Back seat unusable for big/tall adults. Evolution of the previous GLK mini from late 2000s.
GLE = the evolution of the classic ML platform. New design released for MY2019. Never drove the new one but have driven/owned the previous 3, see previous comments above.
GLS = the original GL that was introduced along the W164 ML, identical except for being a 7 seat.

And the grand daddy that goes by just G which is the classic G-wagen dating back to the 70s. Newly refreshed with the S class interior bits so you would be terrified to take it anywhere with dirt after paying well north of $100k for it.
