Yes oil is good it will pick up all the dirt from the road and take it down inside as it closed down .And after a few days the mast will go black . Wipe it with white spirits to get all the black grease off .Then spray it with a spray silicon from a rattle can let it stand for a few mins so silicon can get in to the joints ,then lightly wipe it off .
