Well folks I'm happy to report the chiptuning was a big success. Since Upsolute couldn't get their stuff together, and SpeedTuningUsa had done 12 E300's last year, I gave them the go. The tuning bumped my '99 E300 up from 174hp to 218hp and the torque from 243lbs up to 303lbs. The seat of the pants difference is huge, it feels like a different car. It gave the car a lot more low end grunt right off the start, and maintains it the whole way up the rpm range. Definitely doing more fueling, as WOT emits a pretty steady smoke stream Nothing like the hopped up diesel trucks, but a good bit more than stock. Wow the car is a lot faster, and now feels a little more mated to the H&R springs/Bilstein shocks I highly recommend this to other E300 owners.
P.S. It was only $275 which was VERY cheap IMO, considering my TDI was about $400 and truck mods are a lot more than that.
