Cost

Gmask,
This wasn't an Earl Shieb application so it wasn't cheap. It was done by a shop that takes a lot of pride in their quality of work and has won some car show awards for restoration. They used the finest products of undercoating, color coat and clear, with a lot of color sanding labor. Not including the extra body work required in patching the rust in the left and right spare tire wells, and removal of the bullet lights, it ran $6500. It took 3 months because they wanted to insure that the primer and each coat of poly urethane cured properly. An extra expense for me was the replacement of all the weather stripping and windshield rubber, as they removed the windshield and old door & trunk weather stripping in the painting process. Fortunately, having paid $18K many years ago, the appreciation of this unique model can recover that cost if a sale was ever considered.
