The Yankees seem to be playing way below their ability, but somehow they have the best record in baseball (so far).

I have loved the Yankees ever since I went to my first Major League game at D.C. Stadium in about 1967 or so. I remember seeing Joe Pepitone standing on first base, combing his hair. As a 10-year-old I thought that he must have been the coolest human being ever, the epitome of cool.

Considering the way I feel about the Lakers, I understand why so many people hate the Yankees, but they are easily my favorite sports team, and that includes my college teams.
