The temps you mention sound normal, this engine in this car runs hot. The Redline WaterWetter product does work, so I would give this a try if you have not already done so. I have not replaced any cooling system parts since I took ownership.

My car runs just below 80 degrees on the highway and does climb to over 101-105 degrees in the city if my right foot is feeling a little frisky. The highest I have seen is just below 110, but that was while playing around with the ASR disabled, so drag strip burnouts where a regular thing that day! Keep in mind the average air temp up in WA state is much lower than So Cal., so I will likely see some higher temps this Summer as I just purchased in Dec last year.
