Hey 500 E MB owners. I was wondering if anybody knows of a
exclusive 500E owner clubs. If not would you folks gather info for me. I would like to start one.

1. I have a major clunking noise in my rear end.
The leveling system is fine, its not a hard ride or a soft
ride. Its very smooth, its just when you go over bumps, and dips in the road it clunks like hell. It acts as though the hydronematic shocks dont pump on yet, when I drive it,it dampens nicely.

Any 500 E owner experince this complaint.

As a factory Certified level technician 14 yrs.
I cant find this damn problem.

Help guys
Guido

Have you looked here? http://www.need2speed.web.com/

Dean has a nice site with a lot of 500E/E500 related data, maybe we can convince him to start a registry??

I cannot help with the "cluncking" sound as I have not heard of this on a 500E before. Has the car ever been damaged in the rear before?

Benzmac may have a clue with some more vehicle history maybe??

Hey roas thanks for your input. I have seen website its pretty cool. Well the car was hit in the rear nothing major. It align with no problem.

Roas tell me At what temp does your cars engine run at in stop and go and bumper to bumper. Mines on the highway is great 80C. But in stop and go its gets up over 100 at times. It has a new waterpump,t-stat/fan clutch/and fan switch. Did you replace any of these for similar complaints. The pump was leaking so it had to be changed.

talk to you soon Guido.

The temps you mention sound normal, this engine in this car runs hot. The Redline WaterWetter product does work, so I would give this a try if you have not already done so. I have not replaced any cooling system parts since I took ownership.

My car runs just below 80 degrees on the highway and does climb to over 101-105 degrees in the city if my right foot is feeling a little frisky. The highest I have seen is just below 110, but that was while playing around with the ASR disabled, so drag strip burnouts where a regular thing that day! Keep in mind the average air temp up in WA state is much lower than So Cal., so I will likely see some higher temps this Summer as I just purchased in Dec last year.

Hey Roas Cool input info. I did purchase water wetter from mercedesshop online. Listen Feel free To call me at work With whater ever tips you need. 1 800 497-2367 ext 313 Beverly Hills Mercedes Benz.

I just Reworked my Exhaust I took from the Cat back and Got rid of it. I installed A fresh stainless setup. It has 2 stainless resonator instead of that big bulky round one that did nothing for performance and a nice Muffler. This thing sounds Hot.

I got it done at my buddies shop in southern cal.

rbtechsportscars.com. what a differnce it made.
check them out on the web. My friend
Ralph was a tuner at brabus and also was a Factory Tech
at my work. See ya Roas Guido.

500E water temp...

I was a bit concerned too, but both these temps sound exactly like mine--100 C is not uncommon on my gauge with hot weather and traffic--can crawl over 100 when it's over 90 outside and traffic too..What are you guys using for fuel additive/injector cleaner? The previous owner of mine says he never used it and I'm a believer in it. Or have you seen a process that makes sure they are nice and clean? Thanks in advance...allen

No problem ItalianBenz, glad I could be of help!

If you have not already done so, using the "Search" tool in the upper right area of the page will bring you a wealth of past discussed information.

Any luck on the cluncking noise?
