Chuck,
Before you panic, it's possible to modify, swap ends, lengthen or shorten driveshafts. Purists may wince but several years ago, I had Virginia Driveline in Newington rebuild my
1972 250 driveshaft. They cut off the end with the bad 'permanent' U-joint,
welded on new yokes with a replaceable and greaseable Chevy U-joint, installed my new center bearing and balanced the whole shaft for about half of the dealers price for a new front shaft with U-joint.
So, is your 280S parts car all you
expected and dreamed of? Will your 250 be 'Tearing up those Twisty Roads' before Christys does? I'll be in Virginia Beach for a week but when I get back, I'll take my DKW out to do a little springtime 'Mosquito-Fogging'!
Happy Motoring, Mark (DrDKW)
